TVET Policy review in Uzbekistan


UNESCO has accomplished policy review on technical vocational education and professional skills development in Uzbekistan, based on the through analysis of the experiences, proposes clear actionable recommendations to the government and relevant stakeholders in ensuring the high quality and relevance, wide access and fair equity in professional skills development in Uzbekistan. 

The policy review also offers options for developing the National Qualification System, with the new architecture of the skills development and lifelong learning in Uzbekistan.

UNESCO validated that policy review, along with the experts’ discussions on 17-18 December of this year at the Hyatt Regency Tashkent Hotel.

Organisation and participants

The workshop was organized in plenary and break-out session. The break-out sessions specifically looked at the strategic areas identified by the policy review report. Along participants including national stakeholders, government officials, TVET providers, the Head of UzTEA and its representatives, interns participated with a view to synergize actions and identify interventions gaps.

Objectives and expected outcomes

The validation workshop aimed at sharing the policy review mission key findings and discussed the strategic priorities and policy options recommended by the review team. The validation workshop aimed also at defining next steps for policy dialogue and UNESCO’s support.
