UzTEA is pleased to announce that we are preparing to host our Teacher Commissions (Special Interest Groups – SIGs) Annual Meetup, planned for the beginning of February. This annual gathering will bring together active educators, emerging leaders, and subject-focused communities within UzTEA to reflect on the year, share ideas, and shape priorities for the year ahead.
Open Call for SIG Proposals
In preparation for the Annual Meetup, UzTEA is opening a Call for SIG Proposals.
Educators interested in leading or revitalizing a Special Interest Group are invited to apply and propose focus areas relevant to today’s teaching realities.
SIGs may focus on areas such as (but not limited to):
Young learners and primary education
Assessment and testing literacy
Teacher development and training
Academic writing and research
Digital tools and AI in ELT
Inclusive and learner-centered practices
The call will remain open until the Annual Meetup, allowing time for discussion, refinement, and community engagement.
Why Become a SIG Coordinator?
Becoming a SIG Coordinator is an opportunity to move beyond participation and into teacher leadership.
SIG Coordinators:
Shape professional conversations within their focus area
Lead workshops, discussions, and peer-learning sessions
Build national and international professional visibility
Gain leadership experience within UzTEA’s professional structure
Contribute to conferences, publications, and teacher development initiatives
Become part of UzTEA’s long-term leadership and succession ecosystem
Most importantly, SIG coordinators help transform shared interests into active learning communities.
The Teacher Commissions (SIGs) Annual Meetup will serve as a space to:
Introduce new SIGs and coordinators
Share plans and collaboration ideas
Align SIG activities with UzTEA’s annual roadmap
Strengthen connections among teacher leaders nationwide
Details on submission guidelines, timelines, and meetup logistics will be shared soon.
If you are ready to contribute, lead, and grow within a professional community — this is your moment. Updates and the Call for SIG Proposals will be announced via UzTEA’s official Telegram channel: https://t.me/uzteauz
